According to Art. 14 of the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances, the employer must ensure that employees have access to the safety data sheets of all chemical products that are used in the company. Safety data sheets contain information for the safe handling of hazardous substances, health hazards and environmental hazards.

According to Art. 14 of the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances, the employer is obliged to prepare written operating instructions including a risk assessment for employees. The operating instructions define how workers must handle hazardous substances, the risks to people and the environment and the protective measures and/or rules of conduct which exist. This can reduce damage, injuries and illnesses or, in the best case, avoid them altogether.

According to Art. 5 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Art. 7 of the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances, the employer may only approve an activity involving hazardous substances after a risk assessment has been carried out and the necessary protective measures have been taken.
