What does RECA offer in terms of automated warehouse management?

With iSTORAGE, RECA NORM offers a variety of different ordering systems for access-controlled goods distribution and automated re-ordering that reduce procurement costs while minimising the wastage of common consumables.

What types of machines are available and which one is the right one for me?

The right machine for you depends on the items you want to manage and have re-ordered automatically. An additional decisive factor is which of your processes are to be optimised internally.

Flap dispenser

The flap dispenser offers plenty of storage space and impresses with its high degree of flexibility. There are different versions with up to 72 storage spaces, making them particularly suitable for tool management, personal protective equipment, workshop supplies, abrasives and for the management of borrowed goods.

Carousel machine

The carousel machine is very clear and allows items to be selected quickly and easily. It offers space for up to 48 items on eight levels. This gives it a maximum capacity per module of 384 compartments. Occupational safety equipment, workshop supplies, auxiliary and operating materials, hand tools, drill bits etc. can all be safely stored in the carousel machine and are distributed individually and in an access-controlled manner.

Automated drawers

As a space-saving wonder, automated drawers provide a lot of storage capacity in a small amount of space. The height and division of the individual drawers can be freely configured — this means that the machine can be adapted to suit your specific needs. With up to 945 storage compartments, automated drawers provide space for many different drill bits, turning and milling tools, and hand tools.

Weighing cell machine

The weighing cell is our latest automatic system and provides an innovative warehouse management solution. This weighing storage cabinet boasts lots of storage space, maximum flexibility and very simple operation. Six scales of different sizes allow the machine to precisely identify the removal of items and automatically re-order the items being managed. The weighing cell machine is very easy to use: Register using an RFID chip, open the storage cabinet, remove the desired items, close the storage cabinet — the machine does the rest for you!

What are the requirements?

With well over 1000 installed machines, we have learnt that the industry and company size have no bearing on whether a customer benefits from a machine or not — regardless of the trade being practised or whether the company is small, medium-sized or large. What is important is that you want to optimise your internal management processes and save time, money and stress when procuring consumables.

The machines work completely independently. The collected data is sent to RECA via a built-in router via the LTE radio network. So there is no need to integrate machines into your IT infrastructure — the flap dispenser, automated drawers, carousel machine and weighing cell machine just need a power connection.

How does registration at the machines work?

The carousel machine, flap dispenser, automated drawers and weighing cell machine are closed systemsin which item access is only granted with the appropriate authorisation. Depending on the system, employees that want to take something out of the machine can identify themselves using an RFID transponder or password. Specific automatic functions can be locked per user. In the case of the flap dispenser, carousel machine and automated drawers, it is even possible to block access to individual items for specific users using a blacklist.

How and when does the machine place an order?

The machines order the items that have been removed as soon as a minimum quantity has been reached. This minimum quantity is defined in collaboration with you. This ensures that you always have control over which items are being managed and in what quantities. The collected orders are collated and automatically transferred to RECA at the set order time, thus ensuring the full availability of goods.

What information about item withdrawals and use is provided?

With the closed systems, the frequency and extent of item withdrawals can be tracked at the user level at any time. If an optional cost centre or project number is selected or entered when an item is issued, this is also assigned accordingly. You will then receive a summary of the processed information as often as you like by email. Alternatively, you can access the summaries yourself on our online database via personalised access.

What data is processed via the machines? What about data protection?

The data is initially collected locally on the machine system and transferred to our central database in set cycles. This database is hosted within our Group at a data centre in Germany. Our IT company has been certified by TÜV Rheinland as a Reliable Data Centre.

User data, system data, automatic status data and order data are collected. Personal data, which can be used to clearly identify the user, will only be processed at your express request.

How can I buy a RECA dispensing machine and what are the costs?

If you are already a RECA customer, your usual contact person from our sales department will be happy to contact our system consultant if you are interested. If you do not have a contact person at RECA yet, please use the contact form on this page. A system consultant will then contact you promptly.

The system consultant will work with you to analyse your internal procurement and material management processes. This allows us to work out which storage system is the right one for your company.

For maximum flexibility, you don’t have to buy the machines, you can rent them for a reasonable price. This fee also includes the mobile network service costs incurred, service, maintenance and, if desired, even replenishment by a RECA employee — an “all-round worry-free package”.
